WebAug 3, 2007 · 256 Posts. #4 · Aug 2, 2007 (Edited) those fluted chambers really take a toll on brass,,, i would call the PTR people and ask if you can shoot 308 in the rifle?? 308 hunting stuff is loaded hotter than 7.62x51 or NATO,, if you use 308 you may see some case separation from time to time because the brass is softer and thinner than NATO stuff. I've run a few batches through the case tumbler, and most of the powder burns are gone, but I can faintly see where it looks like some have been etched.

Reloading it was never a consideration, just ensuring reliability. My cetme dings the necks pretty good, but salvagable...if you can find them.
